Job Summary

Entry-level IT Support Specialist that ensures smooth day-to-day operations of Bank IT systems. Provides technical support to internal staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with network connectivity problems and guiding users through basic IT procedures. Delivers timely and effective support to employees with a customer service mindset and excellent communication skills fostering a positive user experience across the organization.

Essential Functions

• Stays current with operating systems, application software, and commonly used hardware to deliver top-tier user support by leveraging up-to-date knowledge.
• Acts as IT support to entire Bank staff, providing technical assistance to all users. Responds to user requests for service and determines nature and extent of support needed. Provides support and/or coordinates appropriate support needed to resolve problems.
• Responds to software problem calls on site or over the phone for users. Investigates error messages and determines resolution. Reinstalls program or replaces files that are causing errors. Calls software vendor, uses written documentation provided by vendor, and/or accesses online technical support to obtain information for problem solving.
• Responds to hardware problem calls on site or over the phone for users. Investigates problems, determines solutions, and resolves problems.
• Installs workstations and printers on LAN according to schedule or as requested.
• Assist in moving PC equipment to different locations.
• Suggests training ideas for users to Chief Information Security Officer and IT Systems Administrator based upon interaction from resolving support requests.
• Maintains strict confidentiality of all Bank, employee, and customer information encountered in position.
• Responsible for protecting the privacy of sensitive business and customer information by following all confidentiality, security, and safeguarding customer information policies and control procedures.
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Position prefers AAS degree in computer related field or a combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position. Experience may substitute for education. Experience working in a banking environment desirable.

Critical Skills: Knowledge of the techniques and procedures of software and network support for multiple users. Understanding of installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking and accessory equipment. Analytical skills to assess problems or unusual situations and develop solutions. Prefer a knowledge of how to assemble and disassemble personal computer components, including cabling.
